The Bede Griffiths Sangha

The Sangha The Bede Griffiths Sangha was established in 1994, shortly after Father Bede's death. It seeks to share and continue his vision through meditation, prayer and active debate. We are not dedicated to the preservation of one man's name, but to the furthering of his vision which was to seek the truth at the heart of all religions.

Many of us are Christians, some are not. We are exploring new ways of living in community and meditation is central to the life of the Sangha. We offer weekend and weeklong retreats and seminars, based on the rhythm of the day at Shantivanam. At many of the retreats we celebrate mass in the Indian style, and in our worship we include Indian music and readings from all the religions.

We publish a quarterly newsletter as a forum for discussion and information on upcoming events. We welcome contributions from all our members.

Most of all the Sangha is a network of for like-minded people who are seeking God in their lives and who are open to a spirit of contemplation and wholeness in the world.
